Traditionally, we harvest our estate-grown Merlot grapes across a range of sugar ripeness. The early picks usually capture the classic varietal definition of Merlot, while the fruit harvested later adds depth and intensity to the wine. The J. Lohr Estates Los Osos Merlot presents mature red color with a raspberry hue. Brambly fruit aromas of plum and pomegranate are integrated with a barrel signature of mocha and baking spice. Whole berry fermentation with a generous use of Malbec in the blend accentuates bright fruit tones on the palate, and leaves a lengthy finish.
 
Dominated by fresh blueberry and boysenberry fruit and layered with vanilla oak, this tasty Merlot finishes with a lingering hint of cherry and spice. Harvested from the families estate vineyards and aged 16 months in oak.
